Race report by Olly Jefferies
Round 4 of the BRCA 12th scale nationals took place at the very popular club located in Crewe, UK. The BRCA as usual did a fantastic job preparing the venue and track for the drivers. The track for this round was very different to previous rounds and was more â€Monza’ than â€Monaco’.

The track was high speed in one half but then tighter and technical in the other. It was clear straight away it would be difficult to run 8 minutes without making any mistakes due to the nature of the track so an easy car to drive would be necessary. The nationals this year have seen full entries at all rounds and this round was no different, this gave the event a great atmosphere in the pits through the whole weekend.

Qualification couldn’t have gone any better; I made no changes to my set up as my X12 had a very good balance which allowed me to run consistent through all the 8 minute qualifying rounds. I was able to take TQ in every round of qualifying and eventually took TQ by 7 seconds. I felt very comfortable with my X12 and decided to make no changes for the A final.

The final went perfectly from start to finish. I made a clean start and was able to pull away from the chasing pack, my X12 felt great so was able to push without the worry of making mistakes. I took the win by just over a lap to second place which was a nice margin to have and reflected how well my X12 was working. Winning round four of the Championship also meant that I took the overall win with two rounds still remaining to cap a perfect day. I would like to thank the BRCA team for putting on a great event and of course XRAY for giving me a great car to race.
